We’re not all privileged to splurge a ton of money on expensive food.
However, that doesn’t mean we can’t come up with healthy, satisfying and fun meals that won’t burn too deep in the pocket.
Take for example camping. Others are fully equipped with lavish ingredients and flashy camp cooking tools — but have you over prepped a camp meal worth $50?
Yep, you read it right. Little Family Adventure managed to come up with a weekend camping meal plan that’s worth $50 and good for 4-5 people. Check it out below!
- Arrival Day Camping Meal
Dinner – Grilled Bratwurst, Sweet Coleslaw, Grilled Cheesy Potatoes, Hazelnut Chocolate and Banana S’mores
- 2nd Day Camping Meals
Breakfast – Camping Breakfast Burritos, fresh fruit
Lunch – Campsite Sandwiches, chips, fresh fruit
Dinner – Herbed Chicken and Vegetable Foil Pockets, Veggie Salad, Traditional S’mores
- 3rd/Departure Day Meals
Breakfast – Chocolate Hazelnut French Toast
Lunch – Family Choice: Tortilla Wrap/Roll ups or Cheese Quesadillas, fresh fruit
Just a few reminders..
This meal plan works best when you’re prepared in every way. First, shop at a store that offers the best prices. The trick is to know which foods are currently discounted or being sold in bulk. Second, go for fresh and whole foods. The instant ones are just going to make you unhealthy. Third, go for camps that have grills ready for family use. Otherwise, if you don’t have an iron grill, bring along an oven rack. It does wonders all the same.
We wish you a thrifty yet an all-out-fun camping!
