Check their Facebook page for updates. See if they posted anything on their windows and doors. Watch out for ads on YouTube or on TV. Who knows? You may just cook up a Mexican feast that would cost you barely anything.

2. Coupons, coupons, coupons
Discovery Channel didn’t create a show about coupons for nothing. These coupons have changed the way families buy, cook and eat. In fact, we consider them tiny pieces of printed magic. Be addictive enough to them and you’ll end up spending very little to none.

Coupons can be found anywhere. From magazines and newspapers to grocery stores, keep an eagle eye out for them. It’s a bit of work to get organized but it’s well worth it every time.

3. Plan and write it down
Planning is key to affordable meal planning. Without a plan, it’s almost like going to war without your armor and weapons. It’s practically a suicide mission.

So the next time you head to the grocery, be ready with your plan and list. It’s the best way to avoid overspending or going for poor, unhealthy food choices.
